London Skolars are delighted to announce the signing of Clinton Hughes. The hooker, who can also play in the back row, will spend the 2019 season at New River Stadium having put pen-to-paper on a year-long contract.
Jermaine Coleman, London Skolars’ Head Coach, commented:
“We are really excited to get Clinton over here. From seeing some highlight clips it looks like he’s going to have a really positive impact on the team. I’m sure he will be popular with the local community and we’re excited to have him on board.”
Hector McNeil, London Skolars’ CEO, added:
“We are very pleased to have Clinton on board. Long time since we have had an overseas contingent. I am sure with his Greek heritage Clinton can become a favourite in the large local Greek population in Wood Green and Haringey.”
An Australian-born Greek international, Hughes has featured in five test matches for Greece between 2016 and 2018. He has plenty of experience having played in the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast A Grade competitions for the past ten years. Hughes said:
“I’m delighted to have joined the team. I’m really looking forward to taking up this opportunity and putting on the London Skolars jersey in the 2019 season.”
