London Skolars are delighted to announce the signing of Malikhi Lloyd-Jones. The former Coventry Bear has penned a one-year deal at New River Stadium ahead of the 2019 Betfred League 1 campaign having left Butts Park Arena during the offseason.
Jermaine Coleman, London Skolars Head Coach, commented:
“I have coached Malikhi at Hemel Stags and I knew he had potential there. He has since spent a couple of seasons at Coventry and developed his game. He’s now got a fair amount of experience playing League 1 rugby and offers us a real threat going up the middle. He’s very dynamic and is exactly what our pack needed.”
Hector McNeil, London Skolars CEO, added:
“We are building a very strong pack for 2019 and Malikhi will add a lot of value to us there. Yet again we’ve added some new blood to the team to help us push on from where we have left off over the last few seasons.”
Lloyd-Jones made 20 appearances for Coventry last season as the Bears finished 11th in the Betfred League 1 table, one point ahead of Skolars. He has previously spent time at Gloucestershire All Golds and Hemel Stags. Lloyd-Jones said:
“I’m glad to have signed with Skolars. Speaking to Jermaine the club seems to have recruited well and has a lot to look forward to in 2019. I am looking forward to getting stuck into preseason and being a part of that.”
