Last Saturday saw the annual celebration of the Skolars Junior Achievements in 2011. The Junior sections presentation night was held after the first team’s game against Swinton Lions.
This event, which is in its 3rd year, aims to award players from the under 14s, 16s, and 18s at the club who have made some great achievements over the 2011 season. Each age group awarded a Players Player, Coaches Award, and Most Improved Player Award. Along with these awards the Junior section also gave out the Clubman of the year award, which is awarded to a volunteer who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in helping out the Juniors. This year’s winner was James Clarke, who has been working with the under 18s all season.
The Junior section also recognised the achievements of one of the Skolars Professional first team players. This year’s award was given to Gareth Honor, who has been at stalwart at the club for over nine years.
Skolars would like to thank Wakefield Wildcats, Castleford Tigers, Hull FC, Arsenal FC, Code 13, Robbie Paul, Rob Purdham, Ireland RL, and Stag Sports for contributing prizes for the raffle, which was held on the night to raise funds for the Juniors.
