The Chairman of the All Party Rugby League Group, Greg Mulholland MP is one of the contenders for Sports Parliamentarian of The Year at the Sports and Recreation Alliance Awards 2012 being held at The House of Commons on Tuesday (December 4).
The Sport and Recreation Alliance’s Sports Parliamentarian of the Year Awards aims to highlight the good work that politicians have been doing for the sport and recreation sector during 2012, which has been a momentous year for sport.
Acting RFL Communications Director Niel Wood said: “Greg is passionate about all sports, but particularly Rugby League.
“We are fortunate to have a Member of Parliament with such a commitment to Rugby League, in terms of being an advocate of the game in the Chamber of the House of Commons, promoting the game to Parliamentary colleagues, chairing the Parliamentary Rugby League Group and playing the sport for the Political Animals and Leeds Akkies.
“We are grateful to his commitment and are delighted to see he has once again been shortlisted for the prestigious honour of Sports Parliamentarian of the Year.”
