Prior to the two first teams taking the field on the prestigious turf at the HAC, six primary schools from across North London contested the Pcubed Challenge on a cold, crisp morning. The schools included Keble Prep, Hazelwood, Lordship Lane, Rhodes Avenue, Seven Sisters and Grange Park.

Before the teams were all changed and ready to brave the cold, they were treated to a museum tour of the Bank of England which served as an interesting warm-up before the main business of the Pcubed Challenge kicked off.

Despite the freezing temperatures, the tournament was played in great spirit, with some exceptional tag rugby doing the impressive venue justice. As the initial games progressed, some great performances from Rhodes Avenue and Lordship Lane ensured they secured their place in the final, both going unbeaten through the group stages.

It was left to Hazelwood and Seven Sisters to contest 5^th and 6^th place, and arguably the game of the tournament between Keble and Grange Park settled the contest for 3^rd and 4^th.

Unbeaten schools Lordship Lane and Rhodes Avenue played out a great final in front of a healthy crowd that had started to gather for the main game. Rhodes Avenue successfully defending their title from last year, running out winners by 3 tries to 1.

All schools then formed a noisy guard of honour as the Skolars and Broncos entered the field, and the finalists were presented with their medals by rugby legend Jason Robinson at halftime.

A big thank you must go to Pcubed including Emma and her colleagues for helping at the challenge as well as the Barnet and Southgate College students that refereed the games. Finally a thank you to all the schools, including students, teachers and volunteers for taking part.
