THIS Saturday’s New River opponents Doncaster were formed in 1951 and have been through several guises, as the Dragons and Lakers before settling on The Dons as their nickname.
The were once the subject of a BBC documentary, Another Bloody Sunday, and are now regarded as one of the game’s more progressive clubs, playing out of the 15,000 capacity Eco Power Stadium.
Doncaster enter round seven in fifth position in Betfred League One, having won four matches and lost three. They are coming off a heavy loss to North Wales and will be looking to get their season back on an even keel.
The last time these sides met, in July 2021, they played out a 16-16 draw. The Dons have not won away against Skolars since a 42-18 success on May 5, 2018.
For the visitors, Ben Johnson needs one appearance to reach 200 while Ben Cockayne needs two tries to reach 150.
